Mayor Ismael Burgueño assigns Carlos Torres as head of Strategic Projects in Tijuana

His role will be to boost the city's emblematic spaces and the development of new public spaces

The mayor of Tijuana, Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, has assigned Carlos Torres Torres as head of the Coordination of Strategic Projects as an honorary position.

The Municipal President made it clear that it was Carlos Torres the one who proposed working pro-bono, a gesture he thanked while recognizing the love and dedication he has towards Tijuana.

Carlos Torres Torres has a Bachelor's Degree in Law from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Senior Management from CETYS, and a Master's Degree in Political Action and Citizen Participation from Colegio de Abogados de Madrid.

Currently, he is a teacher at the Faculty of Economy in Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) teaching the Local Government and Administration subject.

Carlos Torres was a Delegate at the Secretariat of Social Development (SEDESOL) in Baja California and Director of Seguro Popular in the state.

He was also in charge, also as an honorary position, of the successful rescue of Mexicali's Historic Downtown, which has been recognized nationwide.

Currently, alongside Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, he is promoting the creation of two of Baja California's biggest parks: "Laguna México" in Mexicali and "Esperanto" in Tijuana.

The Municipal President underscored that with the honorary participation of Carlos Torres, several different projects that were promised during the campaign could be developed.

Burgueño Ruiz said the following:

Improving Tijuana is Everyone's Responsibility and in the next few days, we will let you know all about the first strategic projects that we will be promoting.

Lastly, the Municipal President pointed out that this administration will be different because of the commitment and the collective determination they have to achieve actions to benefit all Tijuana natives.
