More than 20 coffee shops and 45 stands will come together at "Cáfe en el Mar" which will take place on Sunday, September 29 from 1 PM to 9 PM at the Rosarito Beach Hotel gardens right by the pier.
COTUCO Rosarito invites everyone to this free and family friendly event by the sea where coffee lovers will be able to enjoy their favorite drink and learn all about the options offered by the people of Rosarito and Tijuana.
Given the success of the concept and rise of coffee culture, in 2024, the 4th edition of “Café en el Mar” with live music, desserts, food, and a latte art competition, in three categories: Swan, Tulip, and Free, in which baristas will compete by showing off their skills by creating all kinds of shapes, will be taking place. If you wish to register for this competition or if any brand wants to join this event, messages can be sent to the official Facebook page of CANIRAC Rosarito.
César Rivera González, President of COTUCO Rosarito, Adilene Urías, vice president of CANIRAC Rosarito; Norma Montoya, councilor of Playas de Rosarito, and Hugo Torres, president of the Administration Council of the Rosarito Beach Hotel, met at the Casa Blanca room for a press conference in order to speak about this event.
César Rivera stated:
This event has been consolidating itself since the 1st edition, which was a complete success. It is estimated that 3,000 people will be coming to this 4th edition of "Café en el Mar" and it has become part of the 35 iconic events that take place at this destination. It became as traditional as Festival del Pescado y Marisco and other significant gastronomic events, promoting the touristic and economic development of the region.
He stressed that both "Café en el Mar" and the 45th Bicycle Ride have joined the value chain: due to the huge attendance expected, this weekend will be full of amazing and fun activities!
He also invited all people to enjoy and delight themselves with a delicious cup of coffee at this event, as it will take place within the framework of World Tourism Day.
In addition, he revealed that Rosarito has become the #1 destination in the state for adventure tourism and #2 when it comes to gastronomic tourism.

For her part, Adilene Urías, vice president of CANIRAC Rosarito, added:
Rosarito has grown a lot when it comes to coffee shops, some of them have existed for more than a year. The idea of the 4th edition is for this tradition to continue and that we don't lose that idea of promoting these brands, not only coffee shops, but also entrepreneurs that are joining CANIRAC.
The vice president emphasized that coffee culture has had a boom in the last few years and said that the goal of "Café en el Mar" is to boost businesses so that they stay on the market. She appeared happy of continuing this legacy and sponsors' support.
This event is being promoted by COTUCO Rosarito, CANIRAC Rosarito, the Institute of Culture of Baja California, the Secretariat of Culture, and the Secretariat of Tourism of Baja California.
Café en el Mar is taking place within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the Rosarito Beach Hotel, with the latest event being a concert titled "Gala de piano a la luz de las velas" (Piano evening by the candlelight) with renowned Baja Californian pianist Isaac Namme, which will take place on Saturday, September 28 at 5 PM at Museo-Salón Mexicano.
At the same time, the Rosarito Beach Hotel chapel will be inaugurated on the day of event at 12:30 PM. This chapel has been built to pay tribute to the victims of the pandemic.
