Rosarito Launches New "Punto Naranja" to Enhance Women's Safety

Rocío Adame, Mayor of Playas de Rosarito, is strengthening the "Punto Naranja" network by collaborating with various organizations to benefit the community.

Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz of Playas de Rosarito recently established a new Punto Naranja (Orange Spot) at the IVAC Rehabilitation Clinic as part of its steadfast commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of women in Rosarito.

This initiative carried out in partnership with the Municipal Women's Institute (IMMUJER) and the Women's Institute of Baja California (INMUJERBC), represents significant progress in creating a network of safe spaces where women can seek support and protection if they experience violence.

"Women's safety is a top priority for Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz. We are encouraged every time more establishments and organizations join the Punto Naranja project," said Rebeca Bejarano Maya, Director of IMMUJER.

The new Punto Naranja at IVAC offers a secure and confidential space for women, children, and teenagers. It provides comprehensive support, including counseling, accompaniment, and referrals to specialized services when needed.

Once again, local and state governments have reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating gender-based violence and promoting a safer, more equitable community for all women through these efforts.

The inauguration event was attended by Mónica Vargas, Director of INMUJER BC; Katia Morales, Head of the Department of Prevention and Assistance for a Life Free of Violence at IMMUJER BC; and, representing Rosarito, Adolfo Orozco, Director of the Ombudsman Comptroller's Office, and Erik Matías, Head of the Ombudsman's Office for the 10th City Hall.
