66 thousand AstraZeneca vaccines will arrive in Baja California on Monday, informed the head of the Secretariat of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico.

These doses will be applied next Tuesday, August 10, in the municipalities of Tijuana, Ensenada and Mexicali. Although the vaccination points were not announced, they will be posted in the next few days.

The Secretary of Health asked the population to go for their booster, and specifically to those who received AstraZeneca, to do so 56 days after having received their first dose.

According to Pérez Rico, it is expected that with these vaccines the state will reach 80% of its population fully vaccinated against COVID-19, since up to now 75.22% of Baja Californians have completed their vaccination schedule.

Finally, he emphasized that "the third wave is called the unvaccinated", as he assured that the virus is looking for people who have not been immunized, who can present a moderate or severe level of the symptoms. This means, being hospitalized, intubated or even lose their lives.
