After a month under the orange traffic light as a preventive measure due to high Covid-19 infections, this Wednesday Baja California Governor, Marina del Pilar, stated that the state will be under yellow traffic light next week due to a decrease in infections.
This change will allow there to be more capacity at 75%, and should it keep declining Baja California may even end up under the green traffic light. This would mean less infection risk which would entail less serious hospitalizations in the state, which is why the Governor asked the population at large to keep following Covid-19 safety measures to help reactivate all businesses.
According to the official numbers presented this Wednesday during Marina del Pilar’s weekly press conference, there are 1,162 active cases in Baja California. It should be noted that there were up to 12,000 cases registered in the state last month, which meant that safety measures needed to be strengthened.
Assessment and Follow Up Unit Chief, Néstor Saul Hernández Milán, said that 37 deaths and 249 Covid-19 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours, ranking Baja California as the 5th state with the lowest active case incidence rate nationally.
