The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, revealed today the historic results of the 2024 CONADE National Championships where the state's efforts and talents stood out because they won a total of 491 medals.
Of the medals won by these young athletes, there are 161 Gold medals, 169 Silver medals, and 161 Bronze medals, according to information provided by authorities of the Institute of Sports and Physical Culture (INDEBC), being this the best result in the last four years.
"Our athletes' hard work and discipline has resulted in this success. Congratulations to our champions who represent the pride and dignity of Baja California," Governor Marina del Pilar said.
The state governor pointed out that the athletes representing Baja California are coming back home with historic results from the CONADE National Championships, while reiterating her support to help them continue reach higher and as far as they want.
The governor highlighted that in this edition the first medal in the modern pentathlon was won; there was an 8.5% increase in the number of sport disciplines in the top 10, going from 32 to 36; judo and badminton came back as prominent national victories; a historic maximum of 34 Gold medals were won in swimming, and the first two medals in skateboarding were won as well.
Lastly, according to information by INDEBC, young athletes of Baja California stood out at the CONADE National Championships in a competition where the best Mexican athletes of 51 different conventional sport disciplines between the ages of 10 to 23 years of age were summoned.
