The different vaccination points against COVID-19 in Baja California, especially in Tijuana, were overcrowded on Tuesday after state authorities reminded the population that in case attendance decreased, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine would be transferred to another state in the country.

According to this morning's report by the Secretary of Health of the State of Baja California, Alonso Pérez Rico, a record number of 233 thousand 425 Baja Californians were vaccinated yesterday at the different sites.

One of the most vaccinated sites was the new Government Center/IMOS, located in Tijuana, where 34 thousand 700 people were vaccinated.

With these figures, so far Baja California has achieved that one million 387 thousand 533 people have completed their vaccination schedule, this means 51.52% of the population, since the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is a single-dose vaccine.

According to Pérez Rico, today is the last day of vaccination, with approximately 400 thousand doses still available.

At the same time, he informed that second doses of Pfizer will be applied until further notice, since this vaccine is not available and a new shipment is not expected to arrive today.
