Our presenter, chef Danny Betancourt, visited "Carreta 22" at El Punto Food Truck, specifically in Paseo del Rio, Third Stage of the River, in this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana. On this occasion, two tacos with unusual titles were tested: the first is named El Norteno, and it costs 50 pesos (2.5 dollars), while the second is called Kentucky, and it costs 38 pesos (1.80 dollars).
Kentucky tacos
This taco comprises breaded chicken breast, red cabbage, green cabbage, black beans, cucumber, pineapple, cilantro, a tamarind vinaigrette, and a giant white tortilla. The flavor of the chicken, which was not breaded in the traditional style but with something similar to "panko," which are dry breadcrumbs in the shape of flakes, flakes, or flakes that give the proteins coated in this ingredient a crunchier level, was the first thing that struck out when tasting it.
Price: $38 pesos ($1.80 dollars)
El Norteno Taco
This taco features a flank steak marinated in chimichurri, a sauce made with olive oil, garlic, dry ground chili, vinegar, and various aromatic herbs; purple cabbage, cilantro, black beans, and a jalapeno pepper sauce with tomatillo are served as sides, and everything is served in a large white tortilla, just like the last taco.
Danny commented on the beef marinade being reasonably tasty, the meat being mushy, the beans giving the taco a creamy and smooth texture, and the vegetables adding a great freshness. The sauce adds a nice hint of acidity, but the tortilla was a little rubbery, and our host would have preferred it to be more golden. He awarded this taco a 7 out of 10 ratings.
Price: $ 50 pesos ($ 2.5 dollars)
