On this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana, our host Chef Danny Betancourt went to "Tacos Las Tres Salsas" located at Calle Domingo Arieta, Privada Durango 7730 int. 41 Fracc. El Dorado Residencial. On this occasion he tried two tacos: a suadero taco priced at $2 dollars ($35 pesos) and an asada campechano taco with tripe priced at $2.35 dollars ($40 pesos).
Campechano Taco
This taco has carne asada (grilled meat), tripe, onion, cilantro, huevona salsa, guacamole, and it is served on a store-bought corn tortilla. One of things to note about this taco is that though the tortilla was medium sized, it did not have the size of regular tortillas.
When he tried it, Chef Danny said that the tripe had been grilled, as it was very browned outside but inside it was very dry, as if it was a "tripe chicharron". He did not notice any intense marinade in the meat and he could only taste its flavor more in the second bite. The same thing occurred with the tortilla, which was thin. This is why this taco gets a rating of 6.3.
Price: $ 2.35 dollars ($40 pesos)
Suadero Taco
This taco has suadero, onion, coriander, green salsa, and it is served on a store-bought corn tortilla. Before he tried it, Chef Danny said that the salsa looked "quite delicious."
When he took his first bite, he claimed that "it didn't disappoint", as it had the perfect balance: it had a good level of sourness, seasoning, it wasn't too salty, and it wasn't too spicy. The meat, besides its soft texture, was very juicy and according to Danny, "it had a lot of flavor". He added that it was an "awesome" taco due to all of these characteristics. Chef Danny was able to detect the tortilla's flavor here a little bit more and this is why this taco gets a rating of 9.4.
Price: $2.10 dollars ($35 pesos)
