Baja California will continue this week in orange color, according to the Health Secretary, Alonso Pérez Rico, who also announced that there was a rise in active COVID-19 cases in the state, adding up to 414 today.

Pérez Rico also pointed out that hospital occupation is on the rise. At the state level this is 50.12%, registering 143 intubated patients and 279 hospitalized patients, as well as 390 beds and 143 ventilators available in the entity.

What happens on the forth day "that they are beginning to arrive at the hospitals with fairly advanced respiratory symptoms. What I mean by this, that they are already short of breath, they already have chest pain, they already have trouble breathing, or they are already a little blue in the hands," said the Secretary.

In the specific case of the Secretary of Health in Baja California, it registers a hospital occupation of 44.23%, with Tijuana's General Hospital being the one with the highest occupation rate, at 50.60%.

Meanwhile, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) has an occupancy rate of 56% for COVID-19, and the General Hospital of Zone 8 in Ensenada has the highest occupancy rate, with 74.36%.

In view of this, the Secretary of Health recalled that once the hospital occupation exceeds 70% in the region, they must be expanded through auxiliary units.

So far, there are 24 thousand 207 positive cases accumulated in Baja California, and 4 thousand 132 people who have died in the entity due to this disease.
