As if taken out of a movie, a British woman disguised herself as a Muslim to rescue her daughter from Egypt, the girl name is Mona and she is 3 years old.
Alex Abou-El-Ella, 29 year old citizen of the British city of Slough, dressed in Islamic attire from head to toe, better known as a Burka, she hid her face under a veil and embarked to Egypt.
Mona's father took here from England when she was only 1 year old, it should be noted that he is Eyptian, and Alex had not seen her daughter since.
Despite warnings from the British Office of Foreign Relations that she should not travel to Egypt, a mothers love is much stronger, and after investigating Mona's whereabouts and with the help of a British writer named Donya Al Nahi, who is known for her efforts to help women who've had their children taken by Arab fathers, she ventured into Egypt.
Alex went to the kinder garden where Mona studies and with the help of a trustworthy driver, Alex and Donya kept watch near the school.
Disguised in her Islamic attire, she got out of the car, followed the girl and took her in her arms, Mona was being accompanied by a woman that upon seeing this, began screaming, but Alex was able to run with her daughter in her arms and escape.
Alex says that, at first the girl began to cry and ask the Egyptian woman for help. "This surprised me and made me sad, but after half an hour she looked at me and asked:" 'Are you my mother?'.
But this "rescue" was far from over, given that they still needed to smuggle the girl out of Egypt, and Muslim religion does not allow women to travel alone, which is why she used her other daughters passport, to hide Mona's Egyptian name, and bribed a police officer to fly back to London.
Upon arriving to Heathrow airport but not before she made sure that they were safe, Alex called Mona's father and still husband Mustafa, to tell him that both her and the girl were together.
Something similar happened in the 1991 movie "Not without my daughter" starring, Sally Field and Alfred Molina.
