Tijuana raised its hand and will now be the special guest at the great Spanish Book Fair that will be held in Los Angeles, California from May 17 to 19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
As part of the delegation that came to Tijuana for the editorial meeting, the Tijuana Cultural (CECUT) will be present at this event next to other large publishing firms.
This past weekend, the events director, Marisol Schulz, met with Elsa Arnaiz, director of the Institute for Art and Culture of Tijuana (IMAC), in Los Angeles where the singer and writer Beto Cuevas was also present.
Cuevas will be presenting his book "The art of being Beto Cuevas" on May 19 during the book fair.
Marisol Schulz visited the Cecut recently, where she met with Pedro Ochoa Palacio, who is the CECUTs head director, and held a meeting with representatives of cultural, academic and local touristic institutions.
In its first edition in 2011, LÉALA received just over 36,000 visitors, while last year during its second edition, the amounted of visitors that the book fair received amounted to 67,000 people.
Tijuana will be at the main pavilion welcoming thousands of visitors to the fair, and will appear in all the advertising ads, which will be a great projection for the city.
