At the 18th Annual Binational Delegation to Mexico City event organized by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Municipal President of Tijuana, Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, underscored the importance of working together with Tijuana and San Diego authority figures to address binational issues that benefit and positively impact people on both sides of the border.
Mayor Burgueño Ruiz is a member of this delegation, which consists of San Diego and Baja California business leaders and officials. This group aims to establish proposals defined by an effective binational agenda to address issues that contribute to the economic development of both dynamic regions.
The Municipal President stated:
The binational agenda is a significant item of the 25th City Hall of Tijuana’s work plan. We are firmly dedicated and committed to addressing these issues as a shared responsibility, for it is everyone's responsibility.
The mayor and other speakers discussed the importance of tourism as a pivotal factor for growth and progress at the event "Destino de Dos Naciones: Potenciar el Turismo en Ambos Lados de la Frontera" (Destiny of Two Nations: Boosting Tourism on Both Sides of the Border) on Tuesday, October 22.
During this talk, the importance of promoting the assets offered by both nations to their visitors was underscored. Burgueño pointed out that authorities working together is essential in promoting regional tourism development.
The mayor was accompanied by Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, and the Secretary of Tourism of Baja California, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez.
Mayor Burgueño also participated in the event "Una Conversación con Altagracia Gómez", a talk with young entrepreneur Altagracia Gómez, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo's main business liaison. The talk highlighted the importance of coordination between the government and the private sector, which is essential in boosting growth and competitiveness in Mexico and guaranteeing well-being for all.
