In early 2024, it was revealed that renowned restaurant Tacos El Franc in Tijuana would expand to the other side of the border by opening an establishment in San Diego. Recently, some progress about this new location has been revealed.

This is how the new Tacos El Franc branch in San Diego looks like

This new establishment will be located at a very popular and busy San Diego shopping mall: Plaza Bonita, occupying the space previously used by Funky Fries & Burgers.

Though it was initially estimated that the American branch of Tacos El Franc would officially open in 2024, at the Plaza Bonita location one can see the following phrase:

Opening Early 2025

Since this establishment's opening has taken longer than expected, fans of Mexican gastronomy will need to be a little more patient so they can enjoy this restaurant’s delicacies.

Recently, the Tacos El Franc establishment in Tijuana proudly received the Michelin Guide 2024 plaque, award given only to a few selected restaurants, recognizing it as one of the best restaurants in the world.
