Visitors to Costco Zona Río in Tijuana express frustration over parking fees

The thing everyone expected the least has happened: Costco charging for parking

Costco is always giving lots to talk about and, this time, news on social media has gone viral where it is said that they will be charging for parking at their store located in Zona Río. This, however, has upset this establishment's most loyal customers.

That's right! New payment booths have been installed at Costco and several different Costco Facebook groups have claimed that this is a new business strategy by this corporation. In a brief call made to the Costco Tijuana Río customer service line, the worker revealed that there will be in fact parking fees, however, no date has been set for their implementation.

Despite there being no date for this parking fee at Costco, people have said that when they have gone to these facilities and asked for more information, they were told that there would be a 2-hour free period for people buying at the store. If you exceed these 2 hours, you will start paying the fee.

When it comes to reactions, there are some who approve of this initiative and some who are against it. One of the comments said the following:

I think it is a good idea. I go there and leave before an hour has passed, but there are people who use it as a place to sell their stuff or simply go somewhere else.

In addition, some people said that this was a very bad initiative as "no Costco in the United States does this" which is why it wouldn’t make sense for it to happen in Mexico. Despite people being upset, we know that Costco will not be stopped and will continue to set rules and limitations. Remember to keep an eye on more updates regarding the parking fee that will be taking place at this establishment.
