Mayor Rocío Adame presents work plan with 10 key priorities for Playas de Rosarito

In her first morning press conference, the mayor of Playas de Rosarito presented the priorities that will be implemented in the first 100 days of her administration

The municipal president of Playas de Rosarito, Rocío Adame, revealed on Tuesday, October 15 at 10 AM during her first morning press conference her work plan for the first 100 days of her administration. During this meeting, culture, security, infrastructure, tourism, and sports issues were addressed.

The key points that the mayor broadly explained were the following:

  • Restoration of Escuela del Morro
  • Reactivation of Libraries
  • Reconstruction of Santuario Mily
  • Mobile Government
  • A Safe Rosarito
  • Sports and Youth
  • Tianguis Turístico 2025
  • Safe Tourism
  • Cleaning Campaigns
  • Parque Rancho 40

Among the 10 priorities, the comprehensive restoration of Escuela Primaria del Morro, located in the south community of the municipality, stands out. This educational institution has faced precarious conditions for a long time with unhealthy restrooms and lack of classrooms. In order to guarantee a dignified educational environment, biodigesters capable of eliminating organic waste and prevent pollution were installed. Plus, three new classrooms are being built.

So far, students are taking classes in a temporary area, however, the mayor said that they are taking the necessary measures to protect them during the next rainy season.

Another key point is the promotion of culture as she is looking to reactivate municipal libraries with the goal of promoting reading and create jobs for young people in literary areas.

Regarding animal wellbeing, the reconstruction of Santuario Mily is also in progress. Currently, this sanctuary is in deplorable conditions and they are looking to restore it in order to promote pet adoption among citizens.

In addition to this, Mobile Government is, without a doubt, a priority for the Rocío Adame administration, as they want to bring public services, such as paying taxes, to different communities. These campaigns will begin on Tuesday, October 22 and more information will be revealed through the official page of the Playas de Rosarito government.

Regarding a Safe Rosarito, mayor Rocío Adame stated that they are about to install cameras in police trucks and police agents so what they are doing while patrolling is known, and if anyone commits an offense, they can be held accountable.

She also spoke about sports saying they are working very closely with young people and that sports complexes will not be rented or licensed as the municipality has the ability to manage them.

One of the most important points addressed this morning was Puerto Nuevo: the mayor spoke about the upcoming arrival of Tianguis Turístico 2025, an event which will take place at the Baja California Center in Rosarito. She also spoke about the need to have a restaurant and hotel directory to provide tourists with information during the event that will take place from April 28 to May 1, 2025.

In addition, the mayor claimed that 500 hotel rooms will be in optimal conditions to welcome anyone visiting Playas de Rosarito.

Cleaning campaigns are also one of this administration’s priorities, as they will begin by cleaning the cemeteries of Playas de Rosarito so that on November 2nd, Day of the Dead, people can visit their loved ones in a clean place. At the same time, they are looking to repair machines that are used to remove garbage from beaches in order to offer people clean and safe environments.

Lastly, Parque Rancho 40 is also one of this government’s main projects. The administration wants to build more and restore it, as it is a tourist destination with lots of business. As such, they are looking to transform it so that people can use it to sell and buy handicrafts and other items.

Once the morning press conference concluded, the mayor said to Rosarito natives that they are ready to deal with any situation and earn people's trust.
