Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz led the establishment of the Transparency Committee of the 25th City Hall of Tijuana which he presided over as the maximum municipal authority and whose goal is to guarantee greater efficiency regarding public information access.
This Committee will be in charge of guaranteeing the right to information access and one of its main functions will be to introduce, coordinate, and supervise with terms on the applicable provisions, actions and procedures in order to ensure the efficiency of the management of applications regarding information access.
In addition, they will confirm, modify, or revoke the resolutions that, on response deadline expansion matters, information classification, and inexistence or incompetency declarations, are made by the heads of each area.
They will also establish policies to make obtaining information and the exercise of the right to information access easier and promote the training and updating of public servants or members who are part of the Transparency Unit.
In addition, they will apply and authorize the expansion of withholding of information deadlines, among others.
During the establishment of this committee, Councilor President of the Government, Legislation, and Regulation Improvement Commission, Pablo Yáñez Placencia, pointed out that the 25th City Hall of Tijuana is committed to transparency and accountability to all Tijuana natives.
The Municipal Transparency Committee ended up consisting of the following members: Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, president; General Director of Transparency, Information Access, and Personal Data Protection, Juan Dámaso Ibarra Bribiesca, Secretary; Attorney Representative Teresita de Jesús Balderas Beltrán and Councilors Pablo Yáñez Placencia, Joel Fabián Guardado Reynaga, and Sandra Betsaida Magaña Ríos, board members.
