Baja California stands out at North Capital Forum: Governor Marina del Pilar highlights sustainable economy

The state governor said that excellent conservation and sustainability strategies have been boosted in the state

Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda was present at North Capital Forum, which took place in Mexico City, where she highlighted Baja California as a state committed to environmental protection, sustainable development, and strengthening of a circular economy that allows them to take advantage of resources.

At the panel, "Ya es hora: Sostenibilidad en América del Norte" (It Is Time: Sustainability in North America), the state governor underscored that conservation and sustainability strategies that have bolstered state development have been boosted, allowing for industry growth without neglecting the environment.

"We have taught the necessary training to have the several different economic activities in our state involved regarding this sustainability model that we are promoting in Baja California," she explained.

Marina del Pilar added that they will continue to look for investment from companies whose social responsibility and environmental care standards are adequate, which could also position the state as the greenest in the entirety of Mexico.

Thanks to its strategic location and proximity to the United States, Baja California has adopted practices that have allowed it to transform the vision of a lineal economy into a circular economy, which allows for the use of its resources, cost reductions, and being more environmentally friendly, the governor stated.

"We don't see Baja California as a state isolated from California and Arizona, but like a megaregion. We have adopted other practices that have allowed us to work with communities and transform the vision of the lineal economy we know into a circular economy that allows us to really take advantage of the resources we have," she emphasized.

Lastly, she thanked the opportunity of being able to continue to project the state worldwide, which will provide a better future, boosting development and wellbeing to benefit all Baja Californians.
