CANIRAC backs 10th City Hall of Playas de Rosarito led by mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz

The restaurant industry trusts the new municipal government to boost tourism promotion and the economic development of Rosarito

María del Rocío Adame Muñoz made a promise "to leave a legacy of justice, dignity, and prosperity" in Playas de Rosarito and to boost the tourism, cultural, social, and economic development of the region.

After an overwhelming victory in last June 2nd elections, the flag bearer of the Fourth Transformation has become the municipal president of the 10th City Hall for the 2024-2027 period.

After cabinet positions were appointed by the new mayor, the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (CANIRAC) in Playas de Rosarito, through its president Octavio Machado, has expressed its backing of the people who make up the 10th City Hall.

The region's restaurant industry expects a positive change in work dynamics, dialogue, and strategies regarding tourism promotion and the economic development of Rosarito.

Octavio Machado, president of CANIRAC, stated in a recent interview with San Diego Red that the appointments made by the mayor have been well received and generated favorable expectations. "We are backing these appointments, especially in the areas that concern us. We trust that there will be assertive communication to benefit the restaurant industry," he claimed.

He also highlighted the importance of maintaining active dialogue with the municipal government in order to address crucial issues such as regulation and obtaining permits.

"We want the restaurant industry to be part of the operations required by the municipality," Machado said, emphasizing the need of an environment that favors economic activity.

The new proposals by the 10th City Hall of Plays de Rosarito include one that has caught the business industry's attention and it is the digitalization of procedures, which is a tool that will simply processes.

"This will benefit the community, but especially restaurant leaders, making the process easier and speeding up waiting times. It also allows for the improvement of efficiency when it comes to licenses and permits," Octavio Machado explained.

Tourism promotion and economic development will be dialogue topics between CANIRAC and 10th City Hall of Playas de Rosarito

Some of the strategic areas that CANIRAC considers significant, there is the Committee of Economic Development and the Committee of Tourism and Conventions (COTUCO), which are essential in order to work together with new government.

"We have had a very good impression of the work team that this new city hall has revealed, because we believe that we can move forward in the gastronomic area and project what is best for our city," the leader of the restaurant chamber said.

Tourism promotion and economic development are priorities for CANIRAC, especially with the arrival of Tianguis Turístico next year. "The idea is to be prepared to welcome this very important event and build a narrative in this city that attracts visitors constantly," Machado said. This approach will result in new benefits for restaurant owners and the entire community.

Regarding security, he showed his trust in the new Secretary of Citizen Security, Héctor Monzón Ruvalcaba. "We trust that the necessary and prompt measures will be taken to strengthen security in Rosarito, not only to benefit tourism, but to benefit all residents of this municipality. We believe that they will do a good job in this area, because though it is not up to us to talk about this topic (...) it is part of the dialogue we've had and the work councils we have organized," he explained.

Lastly, regarding economic development projects in this new administration, Machado trusted that the people appointed in key areas have the necessary experience to boost this city.

"We trust that the people in charge of these areas have the necessary experience to help the city move forward and CANIRAC's idea is to communicate and collaborate on behalf of the restaurant industry and its interests," he concluded.

The endorsement that CANIRAC has given the 10th City Hall of Playas de Rosarito reflects a shared determination of making progress to improve business and social sectors; at the same time, it also reflects that dialogue and collaboration will be part of this new municipal government's approach.
