New Comprehensive Wellbeing Center will bring programs and aid to Mexicali

At this center, programs, workshops, and aid to vulnerable people and of limited resources will be offered

Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda confirmed the inauguration of the Comprehensive Wellbeing Center in Mexicali as the result of a government that focuses on people, so that everyone can have access to the programs of the Secretariat of Wellbeing of Baja California such as aid, free education, and empowering workshops.

"This Comprehensive Wellbeing Center will gather together all aid, all programs, but above all, you will find a space fto benefit all women, where they will find all the wellbeing we can provide from the state government," Marina del Pilar said.

The Comprehensive Wellbeing Center was built in a building that used to be a secondary school and had been abandoned, and by demands of residents, this building was recovered so that it could be used to serve people who need it the most, the state governor said.

The Center offers programs such as Tarjeta Violeta and workshops on empowering women, balloon modeling, creation of piñatas, dressmaking, manicure, among other vocations, the Secretary of Wellbeing, Netzahualcóyotl Jauregui Santillán, said.

This year, the Tarjeta Violeta program will reach its goal of 100,000 benefited women, working in a cross-sectional manner, who will not only receive economic aid, but will also be able to finish their studies, learn a vocation, or receive other services or talks, among them the prevention and eradication of violence against women.

"We are working so that their dreams can come true, so that they can finish their studies, learn in a workshop what we have here, because empowering is not only for speeches, it also has to do with facts, empowering you is to give you the necessary tools, and at this center you will find these benefits," he said.

He recalled that all beneficiaries can finish their primary, secondary, and high school studies for free and quickly, with the goal of promoting the wellbeing of Baja Californian women.

The inauguration was witnessed by the nearby community of the Center located at Avenida República de Uruguay 159, Sonora, Mexicali, and it will be open from 8 AM to 5 PM. The heads of the Secretariat of Wellbeing, Education, Inclusion, IMOS, INMUJER, and others, were all present.
