Police cars, uniforms, and equipment were delivered to strengthen security agents' work

Security has been a priority of the government of Mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez since day 1 of the 24th Municipal Administration. That's why, during the three years of her administration, more than 950 million pesos were invested in order to strengthen the Municipal Police.

In the last days of her administration, the mayor of Tijuana delivered police cars, uniforms, and equipment to strengthen municipal security agents' work, which is to provide security to the families of Tijuana. All of this had a total cost of 90,317,718 pesos from the Trust of Contributions for the Strengthening of Municipalities (FORTAMUN).

The mayor of Tijuana stated:

How many administrations, just a week before they leave, are still giving tools to these agencies? I think very few of them, I don't remember any, I don't want to be arrogant, but we will continue to provide for the municipal police. We paid the debt and we still had money to make this delivery, because this administration has been responsible and transparent.

This delivery includes 29 Ford150 police cars, double cab, model 2024, with basic equipment, with an investment of 44,924,828 pesos. In addition, two FORD Expedition units, model 2022, new and armored, had an investment of 9,395,308 pesos.

In addition, 11,292 uniform pieces were delivered for the agents of Active Police, which consist of shirts, trousers, jackets, and tactical and motorcycle driver boots, for 24,088,580 pesos. In addition, 2,400 uniform pieces for agents of the Commercial Police, which includes shirts, trousers, jackets, and boots, had an investment of 5,509,944 pesos.

In addition, 100 Matra radios with portable terminals were purchased for 4,647,922 pesos as well as 2 drones with a zoom 20-megapixel camera for 1,751,135 pesos.

These operational tools and police vehicle units will be added to strengthen police presence during preventive rounds in several areas of the city as well as technological tools that will accompany agents during their work in their fight to recover peace for Tijuana's families.

We are a family, which is why I thank the Municipal Police because we have always trusted you and I will continue to trust in you until the last day of this term, as the mayor of Tijuana, I think it is important to take care of those who take care of us.

The head of the Secretariat of Security and Municipal Citizen Protection (SSPCM), José Fernando Sánchez González, underscored that though this management represented huge challenges, they have been working with a humanistic vision in each of their public policies developed for a first-rate service for a first-rate city.

Today we have a new face of the Preventive Municipal Police, a more humane, professional, and prepared corporation, with one of the highest percentages of efficiency regarding arrests and seizures of weapons in the country. Our police officers responded thoroughly and with honor to carry out their task, and the results obtained were possible thanks to the leadership of mayor Montserrat Caballero, a great woman, a public servant who is always ready to serve others.

Sánchez González added that this delivery is only an example of what our police officers deserve because "to these honest police officers, with a vocation to serve, who give their life to take care of others, we will always be grateful to you with our total respect and gratitude."
