"Fabricación de aviones en Tijuana" exhibit comes to UNAM Los Angeles with IMAC

These exhibitions allow the American public to interact with experts on these issues

The photo exhibit "Fabricación de aviones en Tijuana" (Airplane manufacturing in Tijuana) was inaugurated by the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture (IMAC) at the Edison room in Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM) in Los Angeles.

The head of IMAC, Jesus Emmanuel Villalba Leon, explained that these conferences and exhibitions have allowed fellow citizens who live in the United States to interact with experts, open dialogue, and analyze issues about this industry in the region.

Besides this exhibition, organized by the Historical Archive of Tijuana, the conference "Fabricación de aviones en Tijuana, empresarios, aviones y pilotos" (Manufacturing of airplanes in Tijuana, businesspeople, airplanes, and pilots) took place with a group of experts.

Speakers were COLEF researcher, Araceli Almaraz, aviation engineer, Fermín Cota, and historian Fernando Escobedo who spoke about the first Mexican pilots.

They remembered General Roberto Fierro Villalobos who traveled in "good faith" from Tijuana to Havana, Cuba, and Central America, the country's war industry, and the historic technology and airplane construction link between Tijuana, San Diego, and LA.
