The Committee of Tourism and Conventions of Playas de Rosarito (COTUCO) is inviting all tourists and local residents to participate in the Rosarito-Puerto Nuevo Half Marathon which will take place on Sunday, November 10 at 7 AM.

This is more than a simple race: this is an event that attracts both locals and tourists who will run, travel, and witness the spectacular landscape that this city offers.

The race will begin at Municipal Auditorium Ernesto Ruffo Appel in Rosarito and its finishing line will be Puerto Nuevo Baja Hotel & Villas.

Plus, this route is certified by World Athletics and is currently in process of being endorsed by the Mexican Federation of Athletic Associations, which means that runners will have the opportunity to set official records.

What to expect of the Rosarito-Puerto Nuevo Half Marathon?

This competition attracts all kinds of athletes, from those who wish to overcome their limitations to those who are looking to earn the glory of winning 1st place. Don’t miss the chance to participate in an experience like no other through 21 kilometers (13 miles) full of excitement and passion!

When you register, you will be given a number and a timing electronic system (chip).

This race will also feature services for runners such as hydration spots on the route and finish line, cloakroom, and road safety.

Attention to all competitors: you have 4 hours to finish this race and all runners who finish it will be given a medal!

Prizes of the Rosarito-Puerto Nuevo Half Marathon

This race will award the top 50 places in both male and female categories, and other medals will be given to all participants who finish the race.

There will also be an award ceremony for the best runners of Baja California in both categories and special medals will be given to the first 3 places in each category.

Participants will also receive a DryFit T-shirt and the chance to take part in raffles, contests, or receive gifts from sponsors.

The registration process will be available until November 9 at 6 PM. Fees per phase are as following:

- Until August 31, 2024 at 18:00: $299 pesos ($15 dollars)
- Until September 30, 2024 at 18:00: $350 pesos ($18 dollars)
- Until October 31, 2024 at 18:00: $400 pesos ($20 dollars)
- Until November 9, 2024 at 18:00: $500 pesos ($25 dollars)

World Athletics International Certification

This year, the Rosarito-Puerto Nuevo Half Marathon has received the "World Athletics" and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) certification, which makes this an even more interesting and significant racing event for national and international competitors.

This certification guarantees that the 21.0975 km distance between the starting and finishing line has been accurately measured, which means that runners can set official records.
