Municipal Police of Tijuana arrests 196 people possessing 17 firearms

The Secretariat of Security reiterated its commitment with citizens to continue the strengthening of police forces in Tijuana permanently

The Municipal Police of Tijuana reported the seizure of several vehicles, weapons, and the arrest of at least 196 people for several crimes as a result of their intelligence work and the strengthening implemented to benefit the people of Tijuana.

During the broadcast of "Despierta la Esperanza", the director of Crime Prevention, María Luisa Munguía Ramírez, informed people that during the period from August 19 to August 25, three people were arrested for homicide, three more for attempted homicide, 1 for kidnapping, and 21 arrest warrants were carried out.

In addition, 41 people were arrested for car theft and 4 were arrested for aggravated robbery, while 73 were arrested for drug trafficking and 10 for carrying weapons.

During the deployment of several operations, 17 firearms were seized, of which 3 were long firearms and 14 small firearms, while 142 useful cartridges and 2 prop guns that were used during violent muggings were also seized.

The Secretariat of Security reiterates its commitment with citizens to continue the strengthening of police permanently, especially in priority areas of the state.
