Marina del Pilar makes progress on programs dedicated to the wellbeing of families in Baja California

"Pancita Llena Corazón Contento" has provided 31 million breakfast rations to children in public schools

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, continues to implement social programs through the Secretariat of Wellbeing in order to guarantee benefits in the state's most vulnerable families.

During her Wednesday Morning Press Conference, Marina del Pilar said that her government's priority and fundamental pillar is wellbeing for everyone, through programs that had never been developed by a state government to benefit those who have the least.

"We have more than 21 implemented programs. Never before has a Baja Californian government developed and designed so many programs to benefit the wellbeing of those who have the least in Baja California, for the good of everyone, poor people come first and we are doing it by putting our heart above all," she said.

She also said that one of her administration’s most important programs is Pancita Llena, Corazón Contento which has been a reference nationwide due to how it supports children in Baja California: more than 31 million rations have been delivered in public schools thanks to this program.

In addition, she stated that they are looking to benefit more than 100,000 women who are heads of their family through the Violet Card program by the end of 2024. This program provides a bimonthly aid of 2,600 pesos and workshops and personal strengthening and empowerment courses.

She emphasized that the government she leads was the first one to sign an agreement with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to provide scholarships and aid to people with disabilities, helping 109,000 beneficiaries.

She reiterated that this joint effort has managed to lower the inequality gap and poverty, positively making an impact on society as 8,000 people have left extreme poverty and 340,000 have been able to get out of the poverty and socially vulnerable situations in which they were involved in.

"For the good of everyone, poor people come first. That is the policy that we have been implementing and strengthening in Baja California. As you know, our state is one of the states that has managed to lower extreme poverty the most. We are going to continue these actions to provide the necessary tools to all Baja Californians so they can build their dreams, their expectations, and their achievements," she emphasized.

Marina del Pilar invited citizens to discover the several different programs that they have such as Alimentando el Corazón, Social Infrastructure, aid for Civil Society Organizations, Bienestar Clinics, Con el Corazón por el Agua cards, Ilumina Tu Día, Gas Vouchers, among others.
