Mayor Montserrat Caballero transforms Tijuana: "I will spend down to the last peso on our citizens"

The Municipal Administration of Tijuana has invested on public projects, acquiring new machinery and safety tools for public work staff

The 24th Municipal Administration of Tijuana led by mayor Monserrat Caballero Ramírez has invested $51 million pesos to acquire new units that will be used for public projects in the city.

"All of these new first-rate vehicles will be used to provide assistance to citizens' demands," the municipal president of Tijuana said.

The mayor said that with this investment some public project processes such as the restoration of roads will be sped up. In addition, she compared her administration with previous governments because she is still contributing to the wellbeing of citizens even though her term will end in two months.

"Our administration must be the best until the last day of government. The upcoming administration will have its budget as it needs to be (...) I don't remember another administration which kept working and giving it all to their last day, but I am going to spend down to the last peso on our citizens," Caballero Ramírez said.

Nine delegations will benefit thanks to this investment in heavy machinery

In front of nine delegates, the mayor explained that her government's goal is to strengthen operational areas which is why they delivered 31 vehicles units, among them there are 6 pick-up units, one dump truck to collect heavy garbage, four sweepers, five dump trucks, two light pick up vehicles, two trucks with waste removal equipment, a crane truck, and a line painter truck.

This renewal is not only due to the acquisition of new equipment, but also due to them providing staff with new safety tools so that they can work more effectively.

This investment in heavy machinery will bring significant savings to the city as the municipality had to often use private enterprises because they did not have the necessary equipment, which increased costs. Since they now have their own resources, a greater ability to carry out more projects and works is expected.

Caballero Ramírez stated that this transformation is based on the principles of transparency, honesty, and inclusion, working tirelessly until the very last day.
