Flavors that tell a story: Tejate, tascalate, and pozol

Since ancestral times, drinks such as tejate, tascalate, pozol, atole, and pinole have been an essential part of the history and culture of Mexico. At Pontéé Café, you can delight yourself with these and other delicious drinks.

  • Tejate: Originally from Oaxaca and made with maize, cacao, and mamey bone (seed), this drink called the "Drink of the Gods" was considered sacred and was used in pre-Hispanic ceremonies and rituals.
  • Tascalate: With its characteristic red color thanks to the achiote, this drink made of maize, piloncillo, and cacao is a symbol of the culture and tradition of Chiapas.
  • Pozol: Made with corn and cacao, pozol is popular in Chiapas, Tabasco, and several indigenous communities in Central America.
  • Atole and Pinole: Classic drinks in all of Mexico, atole is made with corn dough, cinnamon, almonds, and vanilla, while pinole is made with toasted maize, piloncillo, and spices.

Besides these drinks, Pontéé Café offers delicious drinks such handcrafted chocolate from Oaxaca, rompope latte, and latte coffee from the pot. Their specialties include:
