Summer has definitely arrived in Tijuana and Baja California, especially today on Wednesday July 24, as we could all feel the suffocating weather and the rising temperatures all around us. But it seems that we won't just experience high temperatures, but rain as well.
Warning issued due to rising temperatures in Baja California
The National Commission of Water (CONAGUA) revealed their weather forecast for northwestern Mexico, specifically Baja California, where high temperatures are expected until at least Friday, July 26.
Besides these conditions, isolated showers are expected in the region. These are caused by the Mexican monsoon which has brought heavy rain and even electrical discharges to northwestern Mexico.
Yesterday, the Eastern Zone of Tijuana experienced a sudden downpour followed by electrical discharges which, subsequently, created a more humid and suffocating environment, a very drastic change from the sunny and clear day that had been experienced prior.
In addition, heat will continue this week: Baja Californians could experience temperatures ranging between 40°C and 45°C, with the people most affected being those who live in the desert.
It is extremely important to protect oneself from these high temperatures by avoiding sun exposure for long periods of time, using sunscreen, and keeping oneself hydrated.
