Six young Mexican people stood out at the 65th edition of the International Math Olympiad which took place from July 11 to July 22. Though this competition was scheduled to take place in Ukraine, it ended up taking place in Bath, UK, due to the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Here, the performance by Mexicans was exceptional: the national delegation was able to win 5 medals and an honorable mention, showing off their talent in front of 600 participants from 110 countries.

Who are the Mexican winners at the International Math Olympiad?

Rogelio Guerrero Reyes, from Aguascalientes, won a gold medal for 2nd year in a row, standing out as one of the best young men in mathematics worldwide.

In addition, Takumi Higashida Martínez and Héctor Juan Villarreal Corona won silver medals.

Plus, José Andrés Zamora Moncada of San Luis Potosí and Mateo Iván Latapí Acosta of Mexico City won bronze medals. Emiliano Hernández Barranco, also from the Mexican capital, received an honorable mention.

These Mexican students showed their skills and dedication during these 5-hour long exams, and ranked #24 out of 108 countries and 2nd at the Ibero-America level.

These talented students arrived at the Mexico City International Airport and were welcomed by family members, friends, and social media followers who celebrated their success and shared the moment in social media.
