It is well known that Baja California is an earthquake-prone zone. Earthquakes can occur at any time, regardless of their magnitude, and early Monday morning, more than a dozen quakes were recorded.
More than 12 earthquakes hit Baja California on Monday
According to data shared by the National Seismological System (SSN), at around 01:14 AM on Monday, July 8, the state was hit by a series of small quakes.
These quakes ranged between 3.0 and 3.7 on the Richter scale with some occurring only a few seconds one after the other and with some others happening in a period of up to 30 minutes in between.
13 of them took place in northwestern San Felipe, Baja California, and one of them took place at 01:56 AM in northwestern Lazaro Cardenas in this same state.
So far, no infrastructure damage or injured people have been reported. There has also been no report on social media of people feeling these earthquakes.
It should be noted that on Sunday, July 7, around 6 quakes were recorded in the state, worrying citizens who live close to where they were happening. Authorities have been constantly monitoring these phenomena in order to carry out the necessary measures in case of future earthquakes.
