Discover Ensenada's pirate ship
Ensenada is a port full of boats and ships in which you can enjoy a sea adventure like no other. Among all of these, however, there is one in particular that your inner child will undoubtedly love.
It is the amazing Devil's Gauntlet, a black-colored pirate ship with red lines and huge sails that will make you feel like you're back in the old seafaring days. Children and adults can get on this ship, open from 12 PM to 8 PM from Friday to Sunday, for only $50 pesos. If you wish to have a pirate themed party, you can rent this ship for private events for a different price.
This ship was purchased for $1 dollar with a completely destroyed hull. It was moved to Stockton, California so that it could be rebuilt completely, a process which took 17 months and made it the one and only true pirate ship in the entire Pacific coast.
The Devil's Gauntlet has a unique history, as it was originally built for a TV show in which they would help veterans and rescuers to overcome PTSD, addictions, and alcoholism through an old-school 60-day voyage in the sea, with no technology or electronic devices. Contestants would live, dress, and talk like pirates throughout the entire trip.
This amazing boat has a neighbor sister ship, the Tequila Express, that can also be visited for those looking for more mature entertainment, as it has a minibar and music.
The combination of its amazing landscapes and its lively cultural life makes of Ensenada a perfect place to enjoy your summer vacations. Don't miss the chance to make of Ensenada, and everything it has to offer, one of your main destinations!
