Once more the Tijuana community is celebrating LGBT diversity and pride and, on this occasion, the Municipal Administration of Tijuana led by mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez is inviting people to the concert "Unidos por la Inclusión" that will take place on Saturday, June 29 with a special performance by Paulina Rubio.
"This year it will be Paulina Rubio, the Golden Girl, who will play a concert on the same day of the march and will be the Godmother of Pride. I also want to announce that the mayor of Tijuana will be crowned by LGBTTTIQA+ activists with the symbol of the queen who exercised human rights and gave visibility to the diversity of Baja California," Edoardo Rodríguez Delgado, head of the Subdepartment of Diversity and Inclusion, stated.
Rodríguez Delgado pointed out during videopodcast Tijuana Transparente that this concert will be part of activities planned at Avenida Revolución which will begin at 2 PM on Saturday, June 29. The Municipal Administration is inviting all Tijuana natives to this event.
The head of the Subdepartment of Diversity and Inclusion recognized the work that activist Lorenzo Herrera has carried out for several years to benefit the LGBTTTIQA+ community and as an organizer of the Pride March which in 2023 became a state march for human rights.
This day's schedule will celebrate the 2024 Pride March which will begin at 5 PM on 1st Street and Avenida Mutualismo in Downtown Tijuana. It will continue through 5 de Mayo to 2nd Street and then it will go down through Avenida Francisco I. Madero to then continue to Ninth Street and go up to Constitución where the Municipal Institute of Arte and Cultura (IMAC) is located.
From there, where the march ends, attendants will go to Avenida Revolución to a stage set at Arco del Reloj Monumental where people will gather to enjoy a performance by the Golden Girl, Godmother of Pride 2024 in Tijuana, at 10 PM.
It is expected that in 2024, the number of attendants to the Pride March and the concert exceeds the number from last year, which was 36,000 attendants who assembled at the iconic Avenida Revolución.
