The Secretariat of Tourism of Baja California and airline Volaris have revealed the launching of a new international flight which will consist of a direct route from Tijuana to the famous city of Las Vegas. This flight will begin operations on October 29 while ticket sales will begin today on June 12.

According to data from the 2022-2023 Visitor Profile to Baja California, Nevada is the 3rd tourism market to this region after California and Arizona. This new flight route will make the touristic charms of Baja California much easier to access, strengthening the cultural and economic bonds between Tijuana and Las Vegas.

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila, stated: "We are very happy to see how the connectivity of Baja California continues to grow, allowing more people to discover the great marvels of our region while also keeping our promise of reestablishing international flights to Tijuana. I deeply thank Volaris for contributing to this increase in connectivity and for joining our efforts to create wellbeing for all Baja Californians."

Tijuana, multicultural and diverse border city, has consolidated itself as one of Mexico's main tourism destinations thanks to its strategic location, its innovative gastronomy, and its leadership in medical and wellbeing tourism.

Regarding this, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, Secretary of Tourism of the state, said: "We are deeply grateful with Volaris for its continuous trust in Baja California to inaugurate this new international flight. This cooperation strengthens our connectivity with key markets and opens the doors to new opportunities for tourism and economic development in our region."

For his part, Holger Blankenstein, Executive Vice President at Volaris, pointed out: "In Volaris we are always looking for better and greater traveling options for our clients as well as offering unparalleled flight experiences, addressing the demands of a market with high potential such as Las Vegas. As such, we are achieving once again our goal of increasingly diversifying our destination offerings to benefit our clients on both sides of the border."

The Secretariat of Tourism of Baja California and Volaris invite all people interested to take advantage of this new traveling option that promises to enrich the tourism offerings of the region and complement the wide connectivity of the Tijuana International Airport.
