"The Umbrella Academy" actor thanks Tijuana native chef Javier Plascencia for his participation in PRIDE bus

David Castañeda rode the PRIDE bus to Tijuana where the Tijuana native chef delighted clients with his delicious dishes

Actor David Castañeda posted on social media about his experience riding the PRIDE bus to Tijuana, which took him to assist minors at the shelter @casaymc_mx and members of the LGBTQ+ migrant shelter "Casa Jardín de las Mariposas".

Known for playing Diego in the Netflix show "The Umbrella Academy", Castañeda thanked Tijuana native chef, Javier Plascencia, and his restaurant "Caesar's Tijuana" for the delicious lunch he gave them.

According to the actor, during their trip they prepped more than 3,100 meals for at least 19 shelters with the "This Is About Humanity" foundation and "Fundación Tijuana Sin Hambre", with the goal of providing 1 million meals every year.

He also said that they celebrated Pride Month by gathering in an LGBTQ+ shelter for migrants and families looking for asylum, where they had fun dancing and carrying out several different activities. In addition, they also reiterated the importance of mental health thanks to support from Centro 32, a non-profit organization that deals with the psychological wellbeing of migrants and refugees in Tijuana.

It should be noted that during the trip, they assisted 12 shelters consisting of more than 350 children, teenagers, parents, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Lastly, the actor said that he will continue to advocate for the human rights of people looking for asylum and keeping humanity at the forefront at the border.
