Baja California has been lucky by having very cool weather in the last few weeks, unlike the rest of the country which has been experiencing extreme temperatures. Though many have been feeling quite good in Baja California, everything seems to indicate that we will not be safe from Mexico's third heat wave.
Baja California will be affected by third heat wave in this manner
National Weather Service (SMN) revealed that Mexico will experience a third heat wave, caused by anticyclone circulation of average levels in the atmosphere, which will make temperatures increase way above 45°C in states such as:
- Baja California Sur
- Campeche
- Coahuila
- Guerrero
- Michoacán
- Nuevo León
- San Luis Potosí
- Sinaloa
- Sonora
- Tabasco
- Tamaulipas
- Veracruz
- Yucatán
On the other hand, Baja California will also be affected by these conditions, mainly in its capital Mexicali which will experience maximum temperatures between 40°C and 45°C. Though many are worried about how this could affect Tijuana, there is no reason to be concerned as cool weather will remain here.
According to Civil Protection Tijuana, the city will have temperatures that will range between 13°C and 19°C, accompanied by partially cloudy skies and cool mornings and evenings. Everything seems to indicate that the city will remain with these conditions for at least this week.
For people who are in places of the region where temperatures are high, they are recommended to avoid exposing themselves to long periods under the sun, hydrate themselves constantly, use sunscreen, pay attention to people with chronic diseases, children, and pets, and to keep an eye on announcements by health authorities or Civil Protection.
