On Wednesday, March 6, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported that they found a great number of drugs in a vehicle that was attempting to cross the US-Mexico border through the San Ysidro port of entry.

Among the drugs found there were methamphetamines, fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and three guns, all of which were hidden in different parts of the vehicle. In addition, CBP explained that this incident occurred on Monday, March 4.

It was around 10:40 PM when officials inspected a 38-year-old woman's 2019 SUV who was requesting entry into the United States.

During the vehicle's superficial inspection, agents discovered several packages in the back seats. CBP officers decided to search more thoroughly and sent the car to secondary inspection.

Once there, agents used X-ray technology to scan the vehicle and determined that the firewall, the back seats, the spare tire, and the trunk contained drugs.

103 drug packages worth almost 1 million dollars

CBP found 103 packages that contained methamphetamines, fentanyl pills, heroin, cocaine, and three guns. It has been estimated that the value of this was $885,460 dollars.

Port Director at San Ysidro, Mariza Marin, stated the following: "Our officers inspect over 100,000 travelers each day, balancing the need to efficiently process legitimate trade and travel with the ability to intercept illicit goods and narcotics. This seizure is a testament to their hard work and dedication.”

It should be noted that the woman was arrested and everything she had was seized by CBP.
