Marina del Pilar finalizes agreement with INFONAVIT to provide adequate homes for working class in San Quintin

The state governor will be in charge of monitoring the progress of the CEJUM facilities that will be built in San Quintin

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, with joint support between the state government and the Institute of the National Fund of Housing for Workers (INFONAVIT) announced that they will provide the first public credits to benefit working families of San Quintin, keeping another promise by the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

In her work visit to the sixth municipality of Baja California, accompanied by the head of INFONAVIT, Carlos Martínez Velázquez, the state governor revealed the project of Fraccionamiento Praderas del Valle which will include 130 plots in its first stage, and which will guarantee the right to housing for all people.

During the Con el Corazón por Delante Campaign that 3,000 people attended, Marina del Pilar recognized the work by the institution led by Martínez Velázquez, that will approve the credits, and said that it will be the state government who will provide the land to build this neighborhood which will benefit field workers of San Quintin especially.

She also said that the Municipal Foundational Council of San Quintin, led by Jorge Alberto López Peralta, will be the one in charge of writing off the taxes for this project that will make the dreams of these families of having a house a reality, one of the most important duties carried out by the Fourth Transformation.

Marina del Pilar added that another priority of this project is that all houses built will have all of their services and utilities, especially water, which besides being a human right is one of the main lines of work by the public state administration. This is why the "Green Bond", international financing to provide enough water infrastructure, was acquired.

During his speech, the managing director of INFONAVIT, Carlos Martínez Velázquez, pointed out that the institute will make proper housing for workers of San Quintin easier to get by opening an office and simplifying the procedures to apply for credits to buy, built, expand, or improve homes.

"Being in San Quintin is not a coincidence, at INFONAVIT we are going to where no one had ever gone before. That’s why we agreed to make procedures easier for inhabitants of this municipality and visited the region's companies in order to guide people about the credit options they have," he said.

He thanked the governor for making it easier for INFONAVIT to be in San Quintin and promoting at all times actions that ensure a right to a home for all people and the wellbeing of families.

It should be noted that during this campaign, 3,000 citizens received direct assistance from the state government, through social aid of the Secretariat of Wellbeing and several institutions that provide procedures and services to the community.

As such, Marina del Pilar highlighted that on Wednesday, February 28, 4 months will be paid in advance for beneficiaries of Tarjeta Violeta, so that they have the resources that allows them to assist their families and consolidate their economic independence to substantially improve their quality of life.

During her rounds, the governor was accompanied by the head of CEJUM, Magdalena Bautista Ramírez, who pointed out that just like the facilities in Tijuana, Tecate, and Playas de Rosarito, CEJUM San Quintin will provide comprehensive assistance to all women. This will include social, psychological, and legal assistance, as there will be staff of the State Attorney General's Office and the State Judicial Branch, which will allow them to report any kind of abuse and gender violence.

At this event, the following people were present: the Secretary of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territory Redesign, Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, representative Montserrat Murillo; Councilor President of San Quintín, Jorge López, and the Secretary of Inclusion and Gender Equality, Miriam Cano.
