The state governor signed the decree that gives a 30% discount to renew transport permits

MEXICALI.- To benefit senior taxi drivers, the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar, signed a decree to give them access to a 30% discount to renew their permits.

The state governor pointed out that her government has as a priority to provide wellbeing to all people, especially those who are part of a prioritized assistance group such as seniors that also continue to contribute to the economy of Baja California.

As such, the decree became valid from January 2 to February 29, 2024, so that all permit holders, those who are 60 years old or older, can take advantage of this benefit.

"This is aid that has been very awaited, as permit renewals are a requirement for permit holders. We hope that this decree issued by our governor aids people who are in a vulnerable position, such as seniors who are 60 years old or older," the general manager of the Institute of Sustainable Mobility of Baja California (IMOS), Jorge Alberto Gutiérrez Topete, said.

To obtain this benefit, it is necessary to go to IMOS offices located in the different municipalities and prove your age with an official valid document such as a driver's license, INE, birth certificate, Mexican passport, or INAPAM card.

With this benefit, seniors with permits can carry out the renewal of their permits promptly, guarantee that their documents are valid, have certainty of their status as permit holders, and be allowed to provide high quality public transport services for users.
