Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, governor of Baja California, highlighted the launch of the BC Data platform, which will allow the entire society to know relevant data about the development of the state and the daily results of government actions.
The site, operated by the State Development Planning Committee (COPLADE), collected information to plan and support public policies that have a direct relationship with the well-being of all people, through data that was in the public domain in full respect to the right to information that all citizens have.
The general director of COPLADE, Brígida Fernández Rubio, explained that more than 15 thousand people participated in a consultation forum to determine the most relevant topics for development in which the Government of Baja California has priority to meet the objectives established in the State Development Plan 2022-2027.
"Having information allows you to make better decisions, not only in the public sector, but in the social, academic and obviously the private sector, which is the engine of the economy. For this reason, we created a platform that concentrates the main statistical data of Baja California to democratize information, make it accessible to everyone," said the state official.
On the platform https://datosbc.bajacalifornia.gob.mx is where various indicators of Baja California can be found, including gender and economic perspective, which can also be found georeferenced for a more efficient and specific consultation that allows articulating better strategies.
The head of COPLADE added that by instructions from Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, statistical indicators were cross-referenced with the state of California, which allows measuring progress in public policy actions on both sides of the border, in order to advance towards the promotion of the binational mega region.
