Marina del Pilar prioritizes assistance for women who have been victims of violence in Baja California

Centro de Justicia para las Mujeres (CEJUM) of Baja California has provided assistance to more than 8,000 women who have been victims of violence offering more than 39,000 comprehensive services

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, through the Center for the Justice of Women (CEJUM) announced that more than 8,000 women who have been victims of violence have been assisted, providing them with more than 39,000 comprehensive services. This program represents an important step to address an issue that was ignored by previous administrations.

The state governor emphasized the strengthening of the diligence and administration of justice, in collaboration with the Judicial Branch and the State's Attorney General Office.

It should be noted that as part of the collaboration between the Executive and Judicial Branches, judicial counselors of CEJUM have been present in 613 hearings, achieving 140 sentences and 199 regarding family matters.

In addition, as part of an effort to train and impart knowledge regarding gender perspectives, the International Course on Prevention, Assistance, and Access to Justice for Women, meant for public officials and CEJUM users, was created and 134 completed it.

For her part, the director of CEJUM, Magdalena Bautista Ramírez, stated that gender violence alert recommendations were followed and the certification of the System of Institutional Integrity part of the National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence Against Women (CONAVIM) was achieved. In addition, the construction of new CEJUM facilities is currently being carried out for the south of Baja California in San Quintin with a multicultural approach.

With digital transport platform DiDi, an agreement was signed to provide free rides to 500 women to the Center for Justice and 200 deliveries of food for those who required lodging, which is safe and reliable.

Bautista Ramírez stated that next year the construction of CEJUM in Mexicali, the capital of Baja California, will begin. Assistance for children and teenagers will be renewed as the dog "Toña" will be incorporated into a dog-assistance therapy program.

The general director of CEJUM stated that with these and other actions, it is demonstrated that a clear public policy from Governor Marina del Pilar exists that benefits, empowers, and accompanies women to guarantee their rights and dignity.
