The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, José Fernando Sánchez González, recognized the dog Sophía who belongs to the Municipal Police after her great participation at an international competition; her work in safeguarding the people of Tijuana was also highlighted.
Alongside its trainer and other K9 unit agents, Sophía was welcomed with applause at the facilities of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection for winning first places at an international competition in the United States last weekend.
The head of SSPCM pointed out that canine agents are key in security, prevention, surveillance, and special operation strategies.
"They are part of this family. K9 agents are treated equally, they are trained with the appropriate care, with warmth, with skills, and they are loyal companions in the mission we have as authorities which is to work for peace for everyone."
Sophía is 8 years old and is a Belgian Shepherd who has won national and international competitions, making the municipal agency and all of Tijuana very proud.
