The Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) party has announced it is preparing to revitalize Tijuana and Mexico in 2024, after finishing the first stage of its "Movimiento Escucha" project this Saturday. This phase covered the training of 9 people in charge of the district and the leaders of 139 geographical areas; in the next few days, 1,165 groups of committed citizens will be formed.
Miguel Medrano Valero, municipal operative coordinator of MC in Tijuana, explained that "Movimiento Escucha" is the second phase of a series of 12 national forums named "Un Buen Gobierno Para México" (A Good Government for Mexico) that took place in different areas of the country to learn about the issues affecting the nation and to have the foundations of the government program that will be proposed to society.
He said that these national forums are finally taking place and that, in Tijuana, meetings were held in 9 local electoral districts of the city this week. This was done in order to "listen to the people" because though the old way of doing politics only talks, the new way of doing politics listens, and only with the community will they be able to offer proposals to solve citizens' demands. These proposals will be integrated to a government program for the 2024 electoral process "without any sudden strange ideas or improvisations".
The Municipal Operative Coordination of Movimiento Ciudadano concluded a week of internal work this Saturday with a meeting that was presided by national delegate, David Saúl Guakil who emphasized that in times of alliances, the only alliance that MC has is with the people.
Guakil said that there is a lot to do and a lot of issues to resolve, both nationwide and locally, and highlighted that in Movimiento Ciudadano "we are certain that to succeed we need to work hand in hand with society."
