There will be a bullfight on Sunday, July 2nd at Nuevo Toreo de Tijuana

After rumors spread that authorities had canceled this bullfighting event, businessman Manuel Bowser confirmed that the event will take place on July 2

Businessman Manuel Bowser has confirmed that the second bullfight of the season will take place at Nuevo Toreo de Tijuana on Sunday, July 2.

Rumors spread that this event had been canceled by orders of Mexico’s Judicial Branch. This information was posted on social media by Asociación de Abogados Animalistas de México as a press statement, however, the document has no seal or sign from the federation.

Businessman and owner of Nuevo Toreo de Tijuana, Manuel Bowser stated that this information is not official and pointed out that the event was supported by the city’s municipality, confirming that this bullfight will continue with its lineup.

As a company nobody has told us anything. We have the support of the municipality of Tijuana so that the bullfight can happen on Sunday at 4 PM. If they win their appeal, it would have to go through the Chamber of Representatives or Tijuana’s municipal council so that they legislate it and then take effect, something that did not happen.

The second bullfight of the season will have the participation of Tijuana native matador Manolo Juárez “El Poeta”, who will be alternating with Uriel Moreno “El Zapata”, young matador Sebastián Ibelles, and Peruvian novillero Royer Álvaro.

Manuel Bowser stated that on Sunday, Tijuana natives and all people who love bullfighting will be able to enjoy an extraordinary afternoon, with a great lineup, as well as one of the best livestock in Mexico, by Don Fernando de la Mora.

During his press conference, Mr. Bowser also announced the event that will close the season on October 8, which will be the farewell of rejoneador (lancer), Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza, who will alternate with torero Antonio García “El Chihuahua”, matador José Mauricio Morett, and Tijuana native novillero Emiliano Beltrán.

Doors at Nuevo Toreo de Tijuana will open at noon. Tickets are for sale at El Foro, Real Inn, and Nuevo Toreo de Tijuana, as well as the following website: Boletomex.com. Ticket prices start at $500 pesos ($29 dollars).
