Marina del Pilar promotes security strategy in Baja California

The governor highlighted the importance of the coordination between the state government and municipalities

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, participated in the fifth regional meeting of the Mar de Cortés region in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, where the Secretary of the Interior, Adán López Hernández, and the head of the Secretariat of Citizen Security and Protection, Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez participated in order to reach agreements that create greater security in the northeastern zone of Mexico.

From III Military Region facilities, the governor spoke of the importance of maintaining permanent communication and strengthening the coordination between the government led by the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and the states of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Nayarit, Sinaloa, and Sonora.

Among the agreements reached at the meeting there is the creation of a comprehensive model between control and command centers in each state, which will allow for the strengthening of border areas in each territory, as well as the fusion of the “Murphy” system with the Operations Coordinator Center.

On the other hand, Marina del Pilar alongside governors Víctor Castro of Baja California Sur, Alfonso Durazo of Sonora, Rubén Moya of Sinaloa, and Miguel Ángel Navarro of Nayarit agreed to create checkups through strategic security military posts, where members of the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) and the National Guard (GN) will participate.

Marina del Pilar pointed out that judicializations from the obtained results will be boosted in the five states, in order to prevent criminals from continuing roaming the streets. Another agreement reached was the creation of a control mechanism for immigrant flow in order to assist federal authorities of the Immigration and Development Plan in the Northern Border.

The governor highlighted the importance that the state administrations of this alliance remain coordinated with municipalities and first responders, as their joint work will allow for the security objectives laid by the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to be achieved.

As such, she said that another pathway is focused on the prevention and assistance for addictions, and for this, the coordinated strategy with the government of Mexico is being followed where substance consumption is not promoted. This is complemented with the strengthening of operations to remove fentanyl and other drugs that have become a public health problem from circulation, especially among young people.

At this event, the following people were present: General Francisco Leana, commander of the Third Military Region; Cristóbal Castañeda, Secretary of Public Security of Sinaloa; General Leopoldo Tizoc Aguilar, the Secretary of Citizen Security of Baja California; Luis Alfredo Cansino, the Secretary of Security of Baja California Sur; Jorge Rodríguez, the Secretary of Security of Nayarit; and María Dolores del Río, the Secretary of Security of Sonora.
