The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar, together with the federal government extended the Foreign Vehicle Regularization Decree. The new period begins on January 1st, 2023 and will end on March 31st, 2023. This decree has positively impacted the people of the state, especially groups that need the most help.
As such, Marina del Pilar pointed out that, so far, 230,000 vehicles have been regularized in the state, making Baja California 1st place regarding this process; this is thanks to the permanent and efficient coordination that the state has had with the government of Mexico. Their intention, she emphasized, is to increase the flow of regularization during the first trimester of 2023, in order to benefit the highest number of people.
Marina del Pilar recognized the vision of President López Obrador of benefitting those who need it the most, as for the most part, these vehicles are used by people with limited means, who need to use these cars to travel to their homes, jobs, and schools.
In addition, the governor highlighted the announcement made by the spokeswoman of the head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection of Mexico, Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez, who, in the national morning press conference, stated that these actions taken on the 141 units of 14 states will continue due to instructions from President López Obrador.
For his part, the Secretary of Finance of Baja California, Marco Antonio Moreno Mexía, highlighted the coordination that Baja California has had with the government of Mexico to move forward regarding scheduling appointments across all Public Vehicle Registry (REPUVE) units in the state.
In addition, Moreno Mexía reiterated that the joint efforts with the federal administration will continue to provide greater benefits to citizens interested in regularizing their cars, and highlighted that the money obtained from these procedures will be allocated to improve roads in the seven municipalities of Baja California.
