Marina del Pilar will restore Alamar Node to improve access to Tijuana

This project, part of the RESPIRA program, will give free access in both directions of Hector Terán Terán Boulevard and an easier connection to Vía Rápida

Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, governor of Baja California, led the launch of the Alamar Road Node project, which is part of the RESPIRA program. Its main goal is to streamline the mobility of a traffic key point of the state’s municipalities.

The governor highlighted that once the project is finished delays of up to 60 minutes will be eliminated for all drivers that travel on these roads.

Marina del Pilar explained that with this project there will be free traffic flow from south to north on Héctor Terán Terán Boulevard, as well as an agile incorporation to this road from Vía Rápida Alamar. She emphasized that this project has an investment of around 450 million pesos and that it is expected that this project is concluded in around 12 months.

“This is one of the most important projects that is being developed in one of the country’s most important cities. We are thinking this as an economic development issue, an industrial issue, and an air quality issue,” the governor of Baja California said in her speech.

For his part, the Secretary of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territory Redesign, Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, highlighted that around 250,000 vehicles travel daily in this area, which is why their intention is to develop a continuous flow to benefit everyone significantly. As such, a 750-meter-long bridge will be built and its bases are being built remotely to decrease traffic flow issues on this project.

Espinoza Jaramillo said that a series of access will be developed and alternate roads will be enabled with help from the XXIV Municipal Administration of Tijuana so that enough traffic officers are available during this project and that traffic flow is affected as little as possible. It should be noted that, as part of the RESPIRA program, several projects are being developed in Tijuana that involve historic investments regarding infrastructure matters in coordination with federal and municipal authorities.

At this project’s launch the following people were present: Secretary of Urban Development and Ecology of the XXIV Municipal Administration of Tijuana, Miguel Ángel Bujanda, local representative Ramón Vázquez, as well as citizens and representatives of Tijuana’s business sector.
