Take part in “Pa’Bailar Tijuana” flash mob dance in Downtown Tijuana

Post-pandemic activities have been coming back little by little, with person capacity increasing even more. Meanwhile, health measures such as using face masks have been waning, since its use is currently voluntary. A dance group is looking to unite the community through a flash mob that will take place at different locations of Tijuana.

This flash mob event is called “Pa’Bailar Tijuana” and is part of activities related to the 30th anniversary of Promotora de las Bellas Artes A.C. and this is its second edition. It will take place on Thursday, October 13 at 6 PM at several areas in Tijuana (the main venue will be at the Monumental Clock in Revolución Avenue). They are looking to gather a high number of people to dance to the song “Pa’Bailar (Siempre quiero más)” performed by band Bajofondo featuring Julieta Venegas.

This flash mob will take place in 15 public venues, which include:

IMAC – Tijuana’s Old Municipal Palace
CDM – Conservatorio de Danza México (Mexico Dance Conservatory)
Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego
Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles
Macroplaza Insurgentes
Plaza Río Tijuana
Reloj Monumental (Monumental Clock)
Alameda Otay Town Center
IMAC – House of Culture Altamira
CETYS University
IMAC – House of Culture Playas de Tijuana

Though the invitation is being sent from Tijuana, it actually is open all around the world and for anyone who wishes to participate. The only thing that is required is to register the venue and share videos with the following hashtag: #PaBailarTijuana2022.

It should be noted that a flash mob is a sudden meeting between a group of people so that they can carry out a specific action and/or activity. As such, Pa’Bailar is looking to gather groups of people so that they can all dance simultaneously.

The choreography is being created by Tijuana native contemporary dance group, Lux Boreal. It consists of only a few simple steps so that it ends up being a fun and easy activity for whoever decides to join in, no matter whether you know how to dance or not.
