State Forces arrest armed man in Tijuana

The suspect insulted a group of officers while they were doing surveillance rounds in the city

Staff from the State Forces of Citizen Security of Baja California (FESC) under the coordination of the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Baja California (SSCBC) arrested in Tijuana a 35-year-old man who was in possession of a firearm with 14 bullets.

The arrest took place near Colonia Santa Fe, Segunda Sección, after the driver of a gray 2011 Chevrolet Traverse, with Utah license plates, insulted with words and hands the state officers while they were doing prevention rounds on Santa Fe Boulevard in the corner of Privada Valladolid.

When they approached the man identified as José “N”, of 35 years of age, the officers noticed a marihuana smell emanating from the car. He was asked to get out of the car, and he voluntarily accepted to have his car inspected where no other drugs were found.

However, in between the driver and passenger seats, a Caliber 40 Glock 22 and a magazine with 14 bullets were found.

This is how José “N” was cuffed and arrested for violating the Federal Firearm and Explosive Law, since he didn’t have any permits by military authorities to carry the gun.

Subsequently, the detainee was transferred and given to the Mexican Attorney General Agency (FGR), which will be in charge of handling this case.

It should be noted that SSCBC continues to work on preventions matters through FESC, doing daily surveillance rounds that are giving favorable results for people. All of this with the goal of recovering peace in Baja Californian streets.
