Marina del Pilar presents progress regarding García Boulevard restoration in Tijuana

Construction is about 95% finished

The Baja California administration led by Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda presented progress of 95% regarding the reconstruction, expansion, and modernization of García Boulevard, a road that connects Corredor 2000 with neighborhood Urbi Villa del Prado, revealed the governor Marina del Pilar. She toured this constructed road alongside
Head of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territory Redesign, Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo.

Marina del Pilar revealed that the restoration of around a kilometer of road had an investment of around $15 million pesos to benefit, directly and indirectly, more than 100,000 families of the Eastern Zone and southern sector of Tijuana. These people travel daily on this road and it is also used every day by public transportation units.

Ávila Olmeda highlighted that this is a public work with high durability because hydraulic concrete is being used, in order to prevent damages to the road that could affect the public, while always taking into account rain and types of soil. “We are always looking to have better construction materials for public works in this government, so that it lasts, it is of high quality, and it really benefits our Baja Californian families;” she said.

Meanwhile Espinoza Jaramillo explained that the restoration of two of the boulevard’s lanes is close to concluding, which means that, subsequently, two additional lanes will be added. This will make it one of the most important infrastructure works in Tijuana.

Meanwhile, the head of SIDURT explained that important public work was carried out at Corredor 2000, mainly installation of public lighting in around 15 kilometers of this road. Several stretches were also repaired, and several returns were also built, which are all actions that are being made to streamline traffic and give security to thousands of drivers.

“We ask for you trust. Remember the great benefit that you will all have after several years thanks to this high-quality and durable material. We are still working with heart above all for all of you,” the governor concluded.
