San Diego Trolley to Offer Free Rides this New Year's Eve

Free trips and late night service will be available during New Year's Eve.

San Diego's public transport system will offer free trips and extra late-night service for passengers during New Year's Eve across the entire county.

The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) and the North County Transport District (NCTD) will provide this free service starting at 6 PM on Tuesday, December 31 until 3 AM on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

This initiative will allow users to enjoy the holidays and guarantee a safe return home. MTS buses, the Trolley, COASTER, SPRINTER and BREEZE fixed-route services will all be offered for free. Plus, if you're traveling to or from North County, NCTD will expand its service between Escondido and Oceanside.

Trolley services information for New Year's Eve, including Green, Blue, UC San Diego, Orange, and Copper lines, will be available on SDMTS' official website.
